Love Debunked (Part 5)

Defining love goes beyond mere emotions; it’s a concept that encompasses a profound and multifaceted understanding. When we acknowledge that God is love, and love is God, we recognize that its definition extends far beyond the limitations of mere emotions. Love, in this broader sense, encompasses divine, selfless, and all-encompassing qualities.

Love –

Agape in Greek – Unconditional

Ahava in Hebrew – To love, Genuine Love, Active not passive, Faithfully and Persistently

1 Timothy 6:1-10

Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. 

2 And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

It is important to emphasize that individuals in roles of leadership, where some may be seen as masters and others as servants, all deserve to be honored, with special recognition for those who teach the word of God. Pastors and spiritual leaders working for the Lord should not be neglected or ignored; in fact, they are deserving of double blessings and worthy of honor.

1 Timothy 5:17

 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

1 Timothy 6:1-10

3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; 

4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

When encountering someone who is proud and lacks knowledge, it is advisable to distance yourself from them, as their influence can corrupt your mind. It’s essential to be discerning by evaluating their actions and the results they produce. The Bible advises testing the spirit by examining the fruits it bears, as this is a reliable way to assess their character and intentions.

Proverbs 16:18

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

1 Timothy 6:1-10

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Paul’s message emphasizes the importance of cultivating contentment and avoiding pride. He has learned to find contentment regardless of whether he is in a state of abundance or experiencing deprivation.

Philippians 4:12

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Through all these experiences, he knows precisely where his strength originates.

1 Timothy 6:1-10

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

You can read in the scripture, you came into this world with nothing, you will leave with nothing.

1 Timothy 6:1-10

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Ecclesiastes 10:19

A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.

This last 2 passage is not contradicting, it supports each other. 

1 Corinthians 10:23

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

1 John 2:16

 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
